Risotto Giuseppe Verdi
the recipe was created by the French chef Henry-Paul Pellaprat in honour of the maestro.
But apparently il maestro di Busseto (the master from Busseto) had a real passion for good food and cooking. Very often in his house in the countryside, he used to cook for his family and friends.
In 1896 Mrs Giuseppina Strepponi Verdi wrote a letter to Monsieur Camille Du Locle, director of the Opera in Paris, revealing the secret recipe of Verdi’s risotto, a traditional Risotto alla milanese with a lot of Parmigiano
