#166 I miss Italian Christmas carol – 2

It’s time for another chunk of old good buonismo natalizio (‘Christmas cheeseness’)

If Tu scendi dalle stelle is the Christmas song of all Christmas songs, Astro del ciel (lit. ‘Star of Heaven’, the italian version of Silent night), is the second one

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Night

and Adeste fideles, the third only because Latin Lyrics are harder to memorize!

Here’s the outstanding perfomrance by Giuni Russo (1951-2004) at Madison Square Garden (starting  0:27)

And now something less traditional. Zucchero Fornaciari and his personal version of White Christmas

and  Così celeste which is not a Christmas song but sounds like one, as the authors says in his presentation “it talks about faith and hope, because we really need it”. Here in the amazing live version italian-arabic with Cheb Mami
