Vespa is not only a symbol of Italy, but also a sign of women’s independence
My mother never got a driver’s license, such as many other ladies her age.
But many Italian ladies used a Vespa.
That meant for them a freedom of movement they had never experinced before, and often also a work, and consequently more freedom and independence.
