Here’s how Arcimboldo describes Autunno (Fall): a rustic guy, whose face is made of apples, pears, pomegranate, mushrooms, chestnuts. His hair is made of grapes and grape’s leaves, and he has a pumpkin as a hat.

And in fact in Italy autunno is the time of wine making, long strolls in woods looking for chestnuts and mushrooms, a very hot cup of soup, or risotto alla zucca, polenta with mushrooms or stew…
