#46 I miss Ferragosto

August 15th in Italy is Ferragosto, from Latin feriae Augusti (‘Augustus’ rest) , festivity instituted by the emperor Augustus himself. On the same day the Catholic Church celebrates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and as always happen in Italy, the result is a mix of sacre and profane tradition to be celebrate staying far from work, meeting family and friend in front of a table full of deliciousness. Perhaps a grigliata, the Italian version of the barbecue, or a pic-nic in the countryside or on the beach.
