#36 I miss merenda – 3

A typical merenda in the Tuscany (at least in the countryside around Pisa) is pane zucchero e vino: a good slice of Tuscan bread, with a little red wine and sugar (yes, wine, and yes for kinds, just a little bit, come on, don’t be so scandalized!)

A more political correct classic, very common in Central and Southern Italy is pane e pomodoro:

tomato-rubbed bread, with some good Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, salt, and origano (optional). Not be confused with bruschetta
